DCLM Higher Everyday 2 December 2024 — The Lordship of Jesus
DCLM Higher Everyday 2 December 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Lordship of Jesus
Topic: The Lordship of Jesus
Text: Philippians 2:9-11
9Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
11And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Key Verse: “And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:11).
Message
The title ‘Lord’ means ruler, owner, and master. In Christ all things were created, both in heaven and on earth. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. Jesus Christ is Lord and Master over all the spheres and dimensions of the cosmos, including the many galaxies beyond our knowledge. Christ is Lord over everything, physical, social, economics and educational. When Christ was born in Bethlehem the angel announced the spiritual significance of His incarnation by telling the shepherds, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11).

There is coming a day when every person who has ever lived will bow and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. But for the Christian youth, that great confession should be an everyday reality. A Christian youth should live moment by moment in faithful submission to the lordship of Jesus Christ. Surrender to His Lordship, today.
Quote: Surrender to his Lordship
Challenge: Let Jesus reign in you.
Prayer for today: Jesus, be Lord over my whole life.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
