TOPIC: THE MOST IMPORTANT ASSIGNMENT
TEXT: MARK 16:15-18
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Key Verse: “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).
MESSAGE:
As students or apprentices, we understand what assignment means. Assignment is a job or task given to someone or a group of people to execute within a given period. School assignments are given to determine the student’s understanding, performance and progress in study.
All school assignments are important, but students do not joke with assignments that will form part of their Continuous Assessment (CA). The assignment given by our Saviour, Lord and Master, Jesus Christ, should be taken seriously by all His friends.
Jesus Christ came to this world to die and shed His blood for our sins. Through His sacrifice on the cross at Calvary, many of us are saved from sin today.
Jesus gave many instructions to His followers, but the greatest and most important assignment given before His departure was that all His friends should go and preach the gospel to sinners. While sending His early disciples, Jesus equipped them with power and authority, and also gave them the promise to succeed.
The command to preach the gospel is a great call of Jesus to every believer. Pursue this work with all your life. Do not allow any ambition in life to hinder you from doing it. When you do it faithfully, great rewards await you now and in heaven.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, give me grace to pursue the work of winning souls with all that I have.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)

3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
