Open Heaven 27 January 2025 TOPIC: The Name Above All Names

MEMORISE: “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:” – Philippians 2:9 (KJV)

READ: Jeremiah 32:17-20 (KJV)

17 Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:

18 Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the Lord of hosts, is his name,

19 Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:

20 Which hast set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even unto this day, and in Israel, and among other men; and hast made thee a name, as at this day;

Open Heaven 27 January 2025 MESSAGE

Years ago, a young man was involved in a road accident in which everyone else died except him. He was taken to a hospital and was in a coma for several days. While still in coma, he would occasionally regain consciousness and shout, “Jesus.” Then, he would relapse. This kept reoccurring until he regained full consciousness. He recovered fully, and He is still alive as I write this.

No matter how helpless a situation is, when you call on the name of Jesus, everything turns around for good. The name of Jesus is enough to bring down any mountain. Philippians 2:10 says:

“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;”

A young boy, who was the son of a Muslim cleric, gave his life to Christ. His father felt embarrassed that his son had converted to Christianity, and after many arguments and persuasions, it became clear that his son was unwilling to reverse his decision. Feeling frustrated, the father got his fellow clerics to produce a charm to attack his son. One day, he called his son’s name with the charm, and as expected from a son who hears his father’s call, the boy answered. As he answered, the young boy looked up and saw a big rock coming towards him. Immediately, he shouted, “Jesus!” and it disappeared. It was a spiritual attack, but it failed at the mention of the name of Jesus.

The name of Jesus is powerful and potent all by itself. This is why you must learn to use it in the face of impending danger. However, you should not call the name of Jesus in vain or as a mere exclamation. Do not call the name of Jesus casually so you do not attract the wrath of the owner of the name. Even as a human being, you would not like it if people toy with your name; how much more the Most High God? Exodus 20:7 says:

“Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain”

Beloved, you will overcome whatever challenges you face if you call upon the name of Jesus. As the Bible says in Romans 10:13, whosoever calls on the name of Jesus shall be saved.

Open Heaven 27 January 2025 KEY POINT

The name of Jesus is not an ordinary name; it is filled with power!

Open Heaven 27 January 2025 HYMN 1 – All Hail The Power Of Jesus’ Name

1 All hail the power of Jesus’ Name!
Let angels prostrate fall;
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown Him Lord of all.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown Him Lord of all.

2 Let highborn seraphs tune the lyre,
and as they tune it, fall
Before His face Who tunes their choir,
and crown Him Lord of all.
Before His face Who tunes their choir,
and crown Him Lord of all.

3 Crown Him, ye morning stars of light,
Who fixed this floating ball;
Now hail the strength of Israel’s might,
and crown Him Lord of all.
Now hail the strength of Israel’s might,
and crown Him Lord of all.

4 Crown Him, ye martyrs of your God,
who from His altar call;
Extol the Stem of Jesse’s Rod,
and crown Him Lord of all.
Extol the Stem of Jesse’s Rod,
and crown Him Lord of all.

5 Ye seed of Israel’s chosen race,
ye ransomed from the fall,
Hail Him Who saves you by His grace,
and crown Him Lord of all.
Hail Him Who saves you by His grace,
and crown Him Lord of all.

6 Hail Him, ye heirs of David’s line,
Whom David Lord did call,
The God incarnate, Man divine,
and crown Him Lord of all,
The God incarnate, Man divine,
and crown Him Lord of all.

7 Sinners, whose love can ne’er forget
the wormwood and the gall,
Go spread your trophies at His feet,
and crown Him Lord of all.
Go spread your trophies at His feet,
and crown Him Lord of all.

8 Let every tribe and every tongue
before Him prostrate fall
And shout in universal song
the crownèd Lord of all.
And shout in universal song
the crownèd Lord of all

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
