Topic: The Peace Of God
Text: Philippians 4:4-7
4Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
5Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Key Verse: ‘‘And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus’’ (Philippians 4:7).
Message
Wang Ming-Dao, a Chinese pastor and evangelist, refused to compromise his faith under Communist rule. Arrested in 1955 for preaching the Gospel, he endured 23 years of imprisonment, solitary confinement, and torture. Despite suffering, he experienced God’s unshakable peace. Pressured to deny Christ, he chose imprisonment, declaring, “I have no regrets.” In isolation, he sang hymns, recited Scriptures: and after his release, he continued preaching, inspiring millions.

The peace of God is a deep, unshakable sense of calm, trust, and assurance in God. It surpasses all human understanding, even while facing challenges. In our text, the Apostle Paul urges believers to rejoice, pray, and give thanks instead of worrying, trusting that God fills our hearts with peace and strength in all circumstances. In a world of stress and anxiety, divine peace is a true source of comfort. Worry and anxiety show a lack of trust in God and lead to a loss of peace. It is only through Christ Jesus that a youth is reconciled with God to experience inner peace because He is the Prince of Peace.
Quote: Trusting God fills our hearts with peace
Challenge: Enduring peace is found only in Christ Jesus.
Prayer for today: Oh Lord, fill my heart with Your peace.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
