DCLM Higher Everyday 17 April 2025 — The Power Of His Blood

DCLM Higher Everyday 17 April 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiThe Power Of His Blood

Topic: The Power Of His Blood

Text: 1 John 1:1-10

1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

2(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

3That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

4And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

5This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Key Verse: “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin” (1 John1:7).

Message

Robert Lowery wrote, “What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.” This song perfectly describes the power in the precious blood of Jesus. Mankind is guilty before the holy God because of sin. Many young people today think they can bribe their way to God with some religious activities like singing in the choir, being a member of or an EXCO of a Church or school fellowship. Some try to cover their sins with being good and giving offerings in the church. But none of these can take away our sins.

Forgiveness and pardon can only be obtained through faith in the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross, by shedding His blood for our atonement. Anyone who truly wants to end his life’s journey in heaven and not in hell should sincerely acknowledge his sinfulness, repent and confess them to the Lord. It is only the blood of Jesus Christ that can wash our sins away. In His blood is also healing, deliverance and protection from evils. Come to Him now – He will not reject you.

Quote: In His blood is also healing

Challenge: Only the blood of Jesus Christ can save.

Prayer for today: Oh God, cleanse me in the blood of Jesus Christ.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
