DCLM Higher Everyday 24 March 2026 — The Quintessential Book

DCLM Higher Everyday 24 March 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Quintessential Book

Topic: The Quintessential Book

Text: Psalm 19:7-14

7The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

8The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

9The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

10More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

11Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

12Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.

13Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

14Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Key Verse: “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple” (Psalm 19:7).

Message

The Bible is the most important book we can ever read. In our text, the psalmist describes God’s Word as perfect, trustworthy, and full of wisdom. It’s not just a book of rules, but a guide for our lives. God’s Word helps us to know what is right and wrong, and it shows us how to live in a way that honours God. God’s Word is something more valuable than gold and sweeter than honey. That shows us how precious the Bible is. It’s not just about learning facts; it’s about living by what we read and allowing it to change our lives for the better. When we follow God’s Word, we are warned against making mistakes, and we are rewarded with peace and joy in return.

Great men like Billy Graham, a well-known Christian leader, became successful because he relied on God’s Word for guidance in his life. By reading and obeying the Bible, we can find peace, joy, and the strength to overcome challenges. The Bible is also a tool for success in school, relationships, and future life.

Quote: It’s not just a book of rules

Challenge: God’s Word keeps you on the right path.

Prayer for today: Lord, help me to read and understand Your Word every day.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
