Topic: The Wonder Of Ordinary Things
Text: Psalm 111:1-7
1Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.
2The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.
3His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
4He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.
5He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.
6He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.
7The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.
Key Verse: “Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.” Psalm 111:4
Message
Often times, people tend to give more attention to moments and events that take their breath away. They measure life by moments they consider interesting and wonderful. For instance, when they have achieved a great success like graduating as the best students, finishing first in a marathon race, travelling to beautiful places, attending a concert or recital, acts of heroism and many more.

However, as good as these are, friends of Jesus should be careful not to miss the wonder of ordinary moments like eating, sleeping and waking, ability to make good speech, walking, moving the parts of the body and doing some critical and analytical thinking. Although we do most of these on daily basis without much thoughts, they are not ordinary at all. The breath we breathe is more miraculous than anything that seems to take one’s breath away.
Rather than looking for things to make us happy momentarily, we should also find meaning in every breath you take and appreciate the wonders of God. Look around you to identify the simple but important things to thank God for.

Prayer for today: Lord, help me to daily appreciate You for the gift of life
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
