DCLM Sincere Milk 20 June 2024 — Time To Harvest

DCLM Sincere Milk  20 June 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiTime To Harvest

Topic: Time To Harvest

Text: Matthew 9:35-38

35And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

36But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

37Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

38Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Key Verse: “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest that be will send forth labourers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:38

Message

Before the rainy season, farmers always ensure that they plant their crops and wait for the time of harvest. Every farmer is happy when he sees his crops grow and multiply; such farmer will gladly be waiting for the time of harvest to reap with joy.

Spiritually, our harvest today is the harvest of souls who are lost in sins and trespasses. There is joy in heaven over one sinner that repents. If you look around, you will find a lot of children who are not yet saved. They are in your school, your neighborhood, market, church, streets. You have a duty to reach out to them and harvest them for Christ.

But you need to know that a sinner is not qualified to harvest souls into the kingdom because the blind cannot lead the blind. Therefore, you need to come out of your sins and repent so you can be bold to preach to sinners and bring them to Christ. If you do so, the Lord will be pleased with you.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
