DCLM Sincere Milk 28 October 2023 — To Everything, There Is A Purpose
DCLM Sincere Milk 28 October 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — To Everything, There Is A Purpose
Topic: To Everything, There Is A Purpose
Text: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
1To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
Key Verse: “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” Ecclesiastes 3:1
Message
AIbert Einstein was a German-born physicist (someone who develops physics theories) widely known as one of the greatest scientists in the world. This great scientist once said: “I am thankful for all those who said ‘No’ to me. It’s because of them I’m doing it myself.” Life is filled with ups and downs. There are times we get disappointed by those we trust or feel could help us out of some unpleasant situations.
Joseph’s brother hated him because he was their father’s favourite son and purposely sold him into slavery to see what would become of his dreams. Little did they know that they were pushing him into the fulfillment of the dreams. God has a purpose for everything that happens to us. Joseph later became a Prime Minister who through his office and divine arrangement, kept many generations alive during famine. Whatever happens at every stage of your life, always remember that God has a purpose for it. His thoughts towards you are thoughts of peace to give you an expected end. Cheer-up.

Prayer for today: Lord, please, help me fulfil the purpose of my existence in Jesus’ Name.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
