Text: John 15:13-15
13Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

Message
Who are your friends? Stop and think about it. Are they people who will add value to your spiritual life, physical life, social wellbeing, moral life, academic performance and every other areas of your life? Jesus, our Lord, had people whom He called friends because they were obedient to Him. Are you a friend of Jesus? Does He know you as one of His friends who obey His commandments? Or are you one of the children who do not have Jesus as his Friend? Jesus is calling you to become one of His friends today, He will take care of you if you give your life to Him.

You can tell your classmates, playmates and neighbours about your true and faithful Friend – Jesus. Bad friends will lead you into doing things that God does not like, but Jesus will lead you in the way of salvation, holiness and heaven. Do not let friends influence you to do evil, but rather, influence them to follow Jesus.

Prayer for today: Father, please help me to remain with Jesus as my best Friend.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
