DCLM Sincere Milk 19 February 2025 — True Riches
DCLM Sincere Milk 19 February 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — True Riches
Topic: True Riches
Text: Ephesians 3:14-19
14For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Key Verse: “That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;” Ephesians 3:16
Message
Earthly riches like houses, cars, money and clothes, though good, desirable, and required for our daily lives, are not the true riches. The Bible calls them “uncertain riches” and warns us not to trust in them. (1 Timothy 6:17).
True riches are found only in Jesus; they cannot be bought with money. Sincere repentance from all sins is the gate that leads to true riches. Once you come in, you have access to purity of heart (sanctification) and Holy Ghost baptism. All these Christian experiences open you up to many more great riches and possibilities in Christ, so you can have the fulness of God.

Sin, however, is the number one enemy that denies people true riches in God. Repent of those sins and begin your journey to true riches. Other enemies are distractions that take your heart and love away from God. This hinders you from reading your Bible and praying before you go to school. It might also come as too much desire for watching cartoons, playing games, using gadgets, addiction to social media, etc. Avoid distractions, do not settle for the least, press on, desire more, seek and ask God for more.

Prayer for today: Dear Father, please give me power over distractions and help me to love You more and desire more of You.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
