DCLM Higher Everyday 29 September 2025 — Unmasking The Undefiled

DCLM Higher Everyday 29 September 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Unmasking The Undefiled

Topic: Unmasking The Undefiled

Text: Psalm 119:1-3

1ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.

2Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

3They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.

Key Verse: “They also do no iniquity; they walk in His ways” (Psalm 119:3)

Message

Waldemar Semenov was an engineer on a US ship during World War II (1942) when a German submarine surfaced and opened fire on the ship. The ship began to sink. Semenov and his crew lowered a lifeboat into the water and used the vessel’s compass to sail toward the shipping lanes. For three days, they sailed before they were rescued. Thanks to God for that compass; Semenov and twenty-six other crew members were rescued. God’s word is the guiding compass for youths on the path of righteousness.

The Psalmist in the passage above shows a direct relationship between living by the word of God and an undefiled life. We can only keep our purity of heart and life if we will consciously read the Bible daily, meditate and prayerfully sink all that is read in the heart. Attempting to live righteously without constant obedience to God’s word is an effort in futility. To live by the word of God, a youth must first yield his/her life to Christ and renounce the life of sin. He/she must also pray for grace to hearken to God’s Word.

Quote: God’s word is the guiding compass

Challenge: Renounce the life of sin.

Prayer for today: Oh Lord, give me the grace to live by your Word.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
