15And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

Key Verse: “And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not” (Luke 7:13).

Message

Our passage is an account depicting the moment of sorrow in the city of Nain where the only son of a widow was dead. Jesus intervened with compassion and restored her dead son to life, thereby ending the tears of a grieving mother. It is no wonder that Thomas Moore said, “Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.” Today, there is hope for any destitute youth suffering from any incurable disease, experiencing failure in academics, facing acute financial problems, or grieving due to the loss of a loved one. Weep not! Jesus can bring joy to a sorrowful situation.

Death comes to the old and young at various times. When it happens, the bereaved are usually sorrowful. Hence we must always be ready for eternal life. “When Satan tempted the very first man, Adam, to sin, his goal was to bring forth death. There are actually three kinds of death: spiritual, physical and eternal,” said Marilyn Hickey.  Every youth needs salvation from Christ to escape eternal death, which separates one from God forever.

Quote: There is hope

Challenge: Rather than weep, call upon God for Help.

Prayer for today: O God, help me to solve all my problems.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
