DCLM Sincere Milk 26 July 2024 — What Shall I Render Unto The Lord

DCLM Sincere Milk  26 July 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiWhat Shall I Render Unto The Lord

Topic: What Shall I Render Unto The Lord

Text: Psalm 116:12-19

12What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?

13I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.

14I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.

15Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

16O LORD, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.

17I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.

18I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people,

19In the courts of the LORD’S house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.

Key Verse: “What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?” Psalm 116:12

Message

Asking questions can help you appreciate certain people or things in your life. The Psalmist, in the passage pondered on what he would do to repay God for all His benefits towards him. The question prompted a strong promise to give God thanks in the presence of His people. This should be our attitude as we seek to honour God for all He has done for us. We should regularly ponder on the wonders of God and praise Him always.

Gratitude and deep appreciation should flow from the hearts of children who have experienced salvation from the Lord. They will express it by their love, loyalty to God, righteous living, thanksgiving and a firm commitment to obey the Lord. Note: compose a thanksgiving song of not more than three lines, sing it over and over again.

Prayer for today: God, help me Ato always appreciate all Your good works towards me.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
