Text: Mark 9:17:29
17And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;
19He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.
20And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.
21And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.
22And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
23Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
24And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
25When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
26And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.
27But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.
28And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?
29And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

Message
Jesus ahd all the power in heaven and in earth over all situationd and circumstances. He knows the root cause of all problems and sees far above and beyond what the human eyes can see or comprehend. A man brought his child who had a dumb spirit and tormented of the devil to the disciples. They did all they could but failed before Jesus came to the scene. He eventually chased out the foul spirit tormenting the child and he was set free.

The disciples came asking why they could not cast him out and He simply told them what they needed to do. They need to have faith, pray and fast. Do you desire to be used of God for great exploits in your generation? Do you want to be a carrier of God’s anointing and power? Then devote more time to personal prayers, study of the word of God, developing your faith and fasting. You’re not too young to make an impact.

Prayer for today: Lord, make me an instrument of blessing to my generation.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
