Text: Zechariah 2:1-8
1I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.
3And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,
4And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein:
5For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.
6Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD.
7Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.
8For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.
Key Verse: “Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.” Zechariah 2:7
Message
Our Bible passage is God’s call to the children of Israel to separate themselves from the evil activities of the ungodly people of Babylon where they lived at that time. It was their duty to do that. Their deliverance was in their own hands. People remain servants to sin as long as they choose. Your father or your mother cannot set you free from bad influences. It takes your personal decision to be free. Do not say, “I am a child. I cannot do anything to help myself. I have no strength of my own. They are stronger than me.” You are the only one who can deliver yourself from the control of bad friends and evil habits.

Revelation 18:4 is a call and warning to all friends of Jesus “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” Call on Jesus for help. Promise Him that you will not go back to the company of bad friends. He is able to help you.

Prayer for today: Lord, please deliver me from the company of evil friends.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
