DCLM Sincere Milk  21 August 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiPure Garments

Topic: Pure Garments

Text: Psalm 24:1-6

1(A Psalm of David.) The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

2For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

3Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?

4He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

5He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

6This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.

Key Verse: “Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?” Psalm 24:3

Message

God is a holy God and his habitation is holy. Everything that God does has a trademark of purity because He is pure and expects same from His children. To be pure is to be free from stains of sin. Pureness/purity can be related to white because pure white has no stain on it. With the current rise of sin and iniquity in this world, it looks almost Impossible and difficult to live a life of purity.

The god of this world; the devil is going round the earth deceiving people and would continue to deceive. This is why it seems difficult to stand for holiness and righteousness. The Bible assures us that it is possible. There are some heights and friendship and relationship with God that we can’t get to if there is any single stain found in us. You must ensure that your garments remain pure. Run away from all the bad influences in the world that can stain your garment. Remain with Jesus, read your Bible, pray every day and live a holy life.

Prayer for today: Father, please give me the grace to stand for righteousness all the days of my life.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
