DCLM Daily Manna 20 September 2024 — You Are Secure!

DCLM Daily Manna 20 September 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — You Are Secure!

TOPIC: You Are Secure! (DCLM Daily Manna 20 September 2024)

KEY VERSE: “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD” (Isaiah 54:17).

TEXT: Isaiah 54:14-17 (KJV)

14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.

15 Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.

16 Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.

17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

Israel’s short-range Iron Dome air defence system has had a 96 percent success rate in intercepting rockets fired from Gaza during recent rounds of fighting between Israel and Palestinians, the military said. Developed by state-owned Rafael Advanced Defense Systems with U.S. backing, to counter rockets fired from Lebanon that hit Israeli towns during the 2006 war with Hezbollah and from Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, the system is said to have saved many lives. It has been in operation since 2011, according to a report on Reuter’s website.

Our text gives assurance of God’s protection over His people. Isaiah prophesied with pinpoint accuracy. His voice calms personal, family and national fears. In the few verses under consideration today, the nation of Israel was assured of deliverance and protection against the aggression of surrounding nations. The stockpile of weapons directed against them will do no harm as God deploys His heavenly ‘missile’ shield over the entire nation.

Our world is becoming more dangerous by the day. We hear of Mutual Assured Destruction – a doctrine of military strategy and national security policy that posits that a full-scale use of nuclear weapons by an attacker on a nuclear-armed defender with second-strike capabilities will cause the complete annihilation of both the attacker and the defender.

Believers in Christ do not need to fear. God’s ‘iron dome’ is more reliable than those developed by any nation. There is no need to seek protection elsewhere, outside God. He that keeps Israel does not sleep nor slumber. And no weapon fashioned against you shall ever prosper.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
God’s banner over us is for our defense and deliverance.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
