Text: Matthew 1:18-25
18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
20But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
24Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
25And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
Key Verse: “And he shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21).
Message
Jesus Christ is unique in several respects, clearly distinguished from founders/leaders of all other world religions, prophets and angels. His immaculate conception, birth in a manger, crucifixion and resurrection were all prophesied long before they all happened with precision. On arrival, “there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem” (Matthew 2:1), seeking baby Jesus, having understood the divine revelation of His identity and mission The English music writer, composer and conductor, gave the world this carol on Christ:
O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem,
Come and behold Him, born the King of Israel
O come let us adore Him (3ce), Christ the Lord!

God the Father also declared, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him” (Matthew 17:5). Thus, God has sufficiently revealed the mission and ministry of Jesus that no one ought to be damned in eternity. Join the wise men of today, seek Jesus and get saved.
Quote: Jesus Christ is unique.
Challenge: Be wise, seek Jesus for your salvation.
Prayer for today: O God, help me to guide the lost to the Saviour.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
