DCLM Sincere Milk 25 December 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Seek First The Kingdom
Topic: Seek First The Kingdom
Text: Matthew 6:31-34
31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Key Verse: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33
Message
It will look strange for a child dressing up to go to school, to wear his shoes before wearing the socks. In the same way, it will be abnormal for a person to dress up before entering into the bathroom to take his bath. These actions are exactly what happens every time you seek and pray for success in examination, God’s provision, divine protection, and all other physical provisions and blessings without seeking the salvation of your soul. Seeking the kingdom of God first is the wisest thing to do as our Lord Jesus Christ counsels everyone.

To seek the kingdom of God is to truly repent and turn away from all your sins and receive forgiveness.
Step 1:Sincerely turn away from the life of fighting, bullying
others, stealing, telling lies, disobedience to instructions and all other bad things. Tell Jesus Christ to forgive.
Step 2:you and come into your heart. Believe that He has
Step 3:forgiven you and accepted you into His kingdom.
First thing first; open the door of your heart to Jesus and let Him come in and all other things shall be yours.

Prayer for today: Lord Jesus, come into my heart and make me your child.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
