Topic: Our Burden Bearer
Bible Reading: Psalm 55:21-23 (KJV)
21The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.
23But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.
KEY VERSE: “Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:22
Message
Sarah and Salome are identical twins and were in the same class S in their school. It happened that one day Salome committed a serious offence in class and was reported to the teacher. When their class teacher arrived, she beckoned on Salome to come to the front of the class to serve her punishment. Sarah, her twin sister told her not to bother that she would take the punishment for her since it is even difficult for the teacher to recognize who between them did it. Sarah bore the burden of Salome who later became sober and begged for forgiveness from the person she offended.
Jesus is our burden Bearer. He encourages us to cast our burdens upon Him as He is ready to carry them. Whatever be the burden or load you carry on your shoulder, whether academic burden, family burden, financial burden or emotional burden, Christ is ready to carry it for you.
Do not struggle on your own, for by strength shall no man prevail. Call upon God and He will carry your burden. A song writer wrote:
“Leave it there, leave it there, Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there; If you trust and never doubt, He will surely bring you out; Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.”
PRAYER FOR TODAY
I cast all my burdens upon You Lord, come and deliver me.

Isaiah 53:4-5
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
