DCLM Higher Everyday 14 March 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Folly Of The Foolish
Topic: Folly Of The Foolish
Text: Psalms 14:1-4
1(To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
3They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
4Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.
Key Verse: “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good” (Psalm 14:1).
Message
An atheist professor once taught his students that God does not exist anywhere. After what seemed a brilliant lecture he left the lecture room. As he walked out he stumbled at the stair case about to fall and shouted, “Oh my God!” Some of his students ran towards him where he was gasping for breath. One of them asked him who he was calling, “Oh my God.” He became speechless.

Whosoever says there is no God because he cannot see or feel Him is a fool. He breathes the air he does not see but he does not refuse to inhale the air to sustain his life. He is a fool that boasts of tomorrow when he does not know what will happen in the next hour. He is a fool that commits sin in the dark or behind closed doors and thinks that the eyes of God cannot see him. He is a fool that challenges his Creator to battle or worship the creature instead of the Creator. Anyone who doubts the obvious existence of God is a rebel. Friend, avoid the foolish.
Quote: He is a fool that challenges his Maker
Challenge: When foolish peers entice you do not consent.
Prayer for today: Oh God, deliver me from the company of the foolish.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
