Key Verse: “Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.” Ephesians 5:6
Message
It is believed that children, among all people, can be easily deceived. (Ephesians 4:14) Some of the reasons are because children are generally ignorant, simple minded, in search of knowledge, eager to hear new things and very easy to be convinced. People deceive others by telling them lies and making them to believe such as the truth. They speak vain or worthless words about God, His Son Jesus Christ, about heaven, salvation, and holy living. The Ephesians had been taught to turn away from sexual uncleanness, reject filthiness and foolish talking. They were warned not to allow anyone to deceive and make them to go back to the darkness of sin from which they had turned. They were told that the wrath(anger) of God would come upon them if they disobeyed.

Today, do not allow those who make jest of salvation and righteous living deceive you to go back to your bad ways. Ask the Lord to help you to do what is right before Him, so that you can escape the anger of God.

Prayer for today: Lord, deliver me from the deceit of evil people who try to draw me back to sin and ungodliness.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
