DCLM Higher Everyday 24 September 2025 — Reasons For Strength Renewal

DCLM Higher Everyday 24 September 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Reasons For Strength Renewal

Topic: Reasons For Strength Renewal

Text:  Zechariah 10:6-12

6And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the LORD their God, and will hear them.

7And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine: yea, their children shall see it, and be glad; their heart shall rejoice in the LORD.

8I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them: and they shall increase as they have increased.

9And I will sow them among the people: and they shall remember me in far countries; and they shall live with their children, and turn again.

10I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and place shall not be found for them.

11And he shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away.

12And I will strengthen them in the LORD; and they shall walk up and down in his name, saith the LORD.

Key Verse: “And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off…” (Zechariah 10:6).

Message

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, strength can be defined as the quality or state of being strong; capacity for exertion or endurance, while renewal is the act or process of making something new, different, and better. Thus, putting these two words together, “strength renewal” means a renewed energy and a sense of `purpose that comes from putting one’s faith in God who can strengthen all His own.

From our text we can observe that God promises to strengthen, save and bring back His people who were scattered, and were weak and in despair. The believer is in a warfare and God’s Word says, “For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise and garments rolled in blood…” (Isaiah 9:5a). The weary and wounded soldiers need divine renewal. Jesus’ soldiers need not be discouraged, for there is an assurance of strength from God if they remain faithful to His words. To be strengthened, you need to move closer to God through regular prayers, reading and meditating on His Word. However, unbelieving youths should repent and accept Jesus for daily victory and renewal.

Quote: Move closer to God

Challenge: Draw closer unto God so that your strength can be renewed.

Prayer for today: Lord, empower me daily for victory in the warfare.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
