Text: Jeremiah 51:20-24

20Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms;

21And with thee will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with thee will I break in pieces the chariot and his rider;

22With thee also will I break in pieces man and woman; and with thee will I break in pieces old and young; and with thee will I break in pieces the young man and the maid;

23I will also break in pieces with thee the shepherd and his flock; and with thee will I break in pieces the husbandman and his yoke of oxen; and with thee will I break in pieces captains and rulers.

24And I will render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, saith the LORD.

KEY VERSE: “Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms.” Jeremiah 51:20

Message

Chamberlain was in an airplane when the pilot began to make some announcement, “this is flight 001, we are about to take off, please fasting your seat belt, the flight is approximately 6 hours, we are going on an altitude of 6,324,000, we will encounter some turbulence mid-air but do not panic as we have everything under control, enjoy your flight”. Chamberlain immediately obeyed by fastening his seat belt and was ready for the flight.

Prophet Jeremiah was ready to fight the battle confronting him. He knew he cannot do it on his own, he needed the help of God. To achieve this, he must fasten his seat belt of prayer to God and as well prepare his mind to fight his battles. Just like Chamberlain in our story who obeyed the pilot and fastened his seat belt in preparation for the flight, so also you must always be ready and prepared to face any challenge that comes your way.

You might be having challenges in your health, academics, family or even your spiritual life, but God is ready to hear you. Turn to Him in prayers and face your battles with faith to overcome everything. Remember the chorus which says “nothing prayers cannot do, Jesus answers prayers”.

PRAYER: Lord, give me quick response to my request.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
