DCLM Higher Everyday 16 February 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Blessedness Of The Undefiled
Topic: The Blessedness Of The Undefiled
Text: Psalm 119:1-8
1ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.
2Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.
3They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.
4Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.
5O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!
6Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.
7I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.
8I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.
Key Verse: “Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD” (Psalm 119:1).
Message
Daniel purposed in his heart not to defile himself with the food of the Gentile, idolatrous King and was found ten times better. Joseph fled defilement and immorality and was lifted from the prison to the palace. Ruth forsook idolatry and did not join her contemporaries to run after young men in her youthful days and became an ancestress of our Lord Jesus Christ. Esther kept herself pure and was promoted to the palace where she wrought deliverance for her nation. These are unique stories of people who centred their lives on pleasing God and living for His glory at all costs. They were undefiled privately and publicly.

God is still in the business of blessing boys and girls who will seek to serve Him with their whole hearts; who will do no iniquity and walk in strict obedience to His Word. Have you defiled yourself with fornication, pornography and internet fraud? You need to repent and emulate the likes of Daniel, Joseph, Ruth and Esther who sacrificed everything to please God even in difficult times. You can choose to be like them today!
Quote: They were undefiled privately and publicly
Challenge: Others may, I cannot
Prayer for today: Direct my ways Father, to keep Your statutes, in Jesus’ name.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
