DCLM Sincere Milk 2 April 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Blessedness Part – 6: Blessed Are The Pure In Heart
Topic: Blessedness Part – 6: Blessed Are The Pure In Heart
1And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
2And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
3Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Gold is the most expensive and precious metal on earth. But it is so only after it has been refined and is pure free from all impurities or filths. Precious things are treasured by precious people and kept in secured places. Heaven is a precious place and God lives there. Only people who are sinless and pure in heart will be allowed into the home of our holy God. The Lord Jesus Christ had lived in Heaven with God the Father before the world began. He is the only One that can tell us all we need to know about God. In our Bible passage, He tells us the qualification to see God: a pure heart. This is a heart like that of God, free from all wickedness, evil, pretence, lying and all uncleanness, a heart that loves and obeys God all the time. It is a heart that easily forgives others and keeps no record of wrong doings against him. The pure heart is prayerful, tender and holy.

Is your heart pure? Are you ready to see God? Are you saved from all sins? As you have prayed in repentance for the forgiveness of your sin, so also you can pray with a hunger and thirst for purity. The Lord will answer your prayer and give you a pure heart.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
