DCLM Sincere Milk  9 March 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiThe Gracious Law

Topic: The Gracious Law

Text: Psalm 119:25-32

25DALETH. My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word.

26I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes.

27Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.

28My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.

29Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me thy law graciously.

30I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.

31I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame.

32I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.

Key Verse: “Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me thy law graciously.” Psalm 119:29

Message

The purpose of God for our life is not clear until the revelation from His word comes to us. The word of God contains rules that guide our life in the right direction. Sometimes we tend to think that there are too many rules and regulations in the school, but they are necessary. It is important to know that the world is full of evil. Therefore, the laws of God are to regulate and guide our lives in the right direction. The only way to overcome evil is through the word of God. Therefore, we need to pray always for God to grant and reveal His word graciously to us on daily basis.

There are great gains for obeying the laws of God. It will:
i.Bring revival and renewal
ii.Make your ways clear before God.
iii.Strengthen you during trials and temptations
iv.Preserve you from all evils.
v.Prevent those things that can cause shame in your life.
Therefore, your confession should be: “I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.” (Psalm 119:30)

Prayer for today: Lord, give me the courage to obey Your word in every situation.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
