DCLM Higher Everyday  28 April 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — God’s Purpose For Your Life

Topic: God’s Purpose For Your Life

Bible Reading: Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)

5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

MEMORY VERSE: “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5).

Message

The reason we often struggle to trust God is that we doubt He truly understands our needs. But this is unwise; after all, the One who created the universe and holds all power is more than capable of providing for us. His plans are always trustworthy. Many young people today are struggling with how to find their purposes. They seek validation from others, hoping someone else will define their identities. But this is misguiding. The One who created us knows exactly why and how we were created. True wisdom is found in trusting Him, surrendering to His will, and seeking His divine direction.

When we pursue God’s guidance, we find true fulfillment, the kind of success that brings lasting joy. Aligning our will with His allows us to reach our destination faster, while resisting Him leads to unnecessary struggle and heartache. God’s ultimate will is for us to experience abundant success that glorifies Him both now and in eternity. When we walk in obedience to His purpose, our lives will shine as a testimony to the power of the gospel.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Lord, reveal Your purpose for my life, in Jesus name. Amen!

CHALLENGE

Have you discovered God’s purpose for you?

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
