Bible Reading: Mark 5:25-34 (KJV)
25And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
27When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
28For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
29And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
30And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
31And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
32And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
33But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
34And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
35While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?
KEY VERSE: For she said, if I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole” (Mark 5:28).
Message
John G. Lake said, “Little faith, little healing; much faith, much healing; no faith, no healing. That is the principle.” It is amazing how the woman in our text who had been sick with the issue of blood for twelve years got a spectacular miracle without saying a word of request to Jesus. She said within herself, ‘If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole’ (Matthew 7:34). It all started with a thought, then she went further with a corresponding action, by reaching out to Christ in a faith-touch despite the crowd. Remember, “Faith without works is dead” (James 2:20). Just one touch of faith, and her twelve-year bleeding trauma ended, also putting an end to consultation with many physicians.
Maybe you are battling with an ailment or other challenges and every attempt to get solutions has failed. Reach out to Jesus now by faith. You will never be disappointed. Your access to Jesus is easier now; He is right by your side; He is Omnipresent and as powerful as ever (Hebrews 13:8).
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lord Jesus, take away my problems.
CHALLENGE
Forget about your past failed attempts; touch Jesus now.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
