DCLM Higher Everyday 23 June 2026 — Perfect Peace
Topic: Perfect Peace
Bible Reading: Isaiah 26:1-8 (KJV)
1In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.
2Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.
3Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
4Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
5For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.
6The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy.
7The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just.
8Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.
KEY VERSE: Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee” (Isaiah 26:3).
Message
“The world will be safe and secure in its peace only when nations adopt the principles of Christ and play fair within them,” says William Pierson Merrill. Nations go into war due to hatred and envy. Also, our minds have a way of spiralling out of control, getting into thoughts of hatred, worry and fear that can take away our peace. Some people try to find peace in music, movies, immorality, and drug addiction. However, none of these can give true peace. But when we surrender our lives to Christ, through repentance, he will take over and set us free.
Our memory verse says that God will keep us in Perfect Peace. But you have a role to play. One, trust in the Lord with all your heart. Two, avoid worry and fear. Three, fellowship with believers and feed on God’s word. Four, pray always, casting all your cares upon God. Five, run your life with God’s blue print and not by human philosophy. Six, look unto Jesus.
Lord, Jesus, help me to find the perfect peace in You. Amen.
You can only find peace in the Prince of Peace.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
