DCLM Sincere Milk 28 June 2026 — Spirit and Life

DCLM Sincere Milk  28 June 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Spirit and Life

Topic: Spirit and Life

Bible Reading: John 6:61-65 (KJV)

61When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?

62What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?

63It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

64But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

65And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

KEY VERSE: “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life.” John 6:63

Message

The words of Jesus are spirit and life. This means that it gives life and gives it more abundantly. There is power in the word of God. In fact, Jesus Christ is the Word. Through the Word, everything in the world was made and kept till now. Jesus calls us to believe and accept His word because it quickens our spirit and makes us to come alive.

To benefit maximally from Christ, the Word of God, a sinner must – acknowledge his sinfulness, repent of all sins, confess his sins to God, ask for forgiveness and cleansing through the blood of Jesus. Ask Jesus into his heart to be his Lord and Saviour. He must then determine to continue to walk in the spirit so as not to fulfil the lust of the flesh. This he can do through daily observance of personal devotion to God. He will spend time to pray, read his Bible, meditate on its instructions and obey everything.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Lord, come into my heart, quicken and make me to come alive.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
