Topic: Do It With Full Consecration
Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 9:10-11 (KJV)
10Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
KEY VERSE: “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.” Ecclesiastes 9:10
Message
God does not want us to do evil. He expects all the works of G our hands to be righteous, godly and beneficial. So, when our Bible passage says “whatever thy hand findeth to do,” it does not include the wicked and immoral activities of sinful boys and girls. “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” (Philippians 4:8)
God has been working uncountable number of years now, forever He will continue to work. God created your hands to do something. Everyone has to do something at one time or the other. Therefore, your hands must continually find something to do. Don’t sit idle. Do something profitable and do it with all the strength in you. Doing something unprofitable is as bad as sitting idle, doing nothing. Don’t while away your time. Do something meaningful and rewarding. Do it with all your might, all your strength. To do something with all your might means to do it with full attention and consecration, at the time you are expected to do it, with all the knowledge you have, and to do it better than anyone else. This is what is expected of you as regards your spiritual assignment, academics, house chores and other areas of work.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lord, bless me with a hardworking spirit and cause what I do to prosper.
FURTHER READING
Genesis 39:2-5
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
