Message
Everyone wants to be great. People strive for greatness in E all fields of human endeavour – sports, academics, technology, business and arts. Some people are considered great because they have large amount of money, property, achievement and fame. However, no one grows great alone. One person’s greatness often depend on the contribution of another person.
Therefore, every person’s greatness has its source. Our Bible passage tells us that David was great. It also reveals the source of David’s greatness: “and the LORD God of hosts was with him.” David never lost a battle. He was feared by all the kings who lived in his time. He had great wealth and lived healthy and long. The Lord God of host was really with him. God always makes His people great for a purpose. God exalted David so that he could be a source of blessing to His people, Israel.
That means God makes His people great so that they can fulfill His purpose. David acknowledged the source of his greatness. He spoke confidently about his God. He gave all the thanks and praises to God for His greatness and glory. You can only grow great through hard work and trust in God. Commit yourself to the Lord, ask Him to help you grow great and use you to bless your generation
Lord, help me to grow great and use me to bless Your church and all around me.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
