Bible Reading: 2 Timothy 3:1-5 (KJV)
1This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
3Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
KEY VERSE: “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of themselves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy” (2 Timothy 3:1-2).
Message
Numerous and unspeakable vices bedevil the last days, which are the days in which we live. These vices are undesirable character traits such as greed, gluttony, pride, alcoholism, gambling, betting, fraud, fornication, prostitution, money rituals, homosexuality and so on. A lot of Christian youths have become victims of these vices. Many have been caught up in this web, making them school dropouts, mentally deranged, seriously sick, drugs addict; and some die untimely.
Are you a victim of these vices? You can be free right now. All you need to do is to repent of all your past sins and invite Jesus into your heart to be your Lord and Saviour. Also seek counsel from mature, godly leaders and fellowship with Christ-like believers. Jesus said, “For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” (Matthew 24:38).
PRAYER FOR TODAY
O Lord, set me free from all vices.
CHALLENGE
Obtain your victory over vices through Christ.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
