DCLM Sincere Milk 19 NOVEMBER 2021 — Always Remember to Give Thanks
TOPIC: ALWAYS REMEMBER TO GIVE THANKS
TEXT: PSALM 107:1-8
1 O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
3 And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.
4 They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.
5 Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
6 Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.
7 And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
8 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
Key Verse: “O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever” (Psalm 107:1).
MESSAGE:
It is good to always show appreciation for all that we receive. The Psalmist described some difficult and terrible situations that the children of Israel went through: “They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in. Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them”.
Boys and girls sometimes pass through near-death experiences that leave them confused. They then wonder if God still remembers them, but you need to know that the reason you are alive today is because God has not forgotten you, otherwise you would have been consumed by the problem. We face so many dangers and temptations every day, but God’s mercies see us through.
We owe God a daily life of thanksgiving for everything: the air we breathe, the water we drink, the house we live in, the food we eat, daily protection from seen and unseen forces, for the sunshine, for the rain, for the moon, and for everything that make us survive in life. Cultivate the habit of giving thanks and singing praises unto God.
Prayer: Oh! Lord, give me a heart of praise.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
