TOPIC: WHEN TO RUN
TEXT: 2 TIMOTHY 2:22-26
22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
Key Verse: “Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart” (2 Timothy 2:22).
MESSAGE:
It was in the middle of the night. The shout of “Fire! Fire!! Fire!!!” woke everybody up. Nobody waited to ask questions about what caused the fire. Everybody’s goal was to run out of the building and escape the fire. Questions should be asked later. Such is the situation whenever anyone is faced with danger.

Actually, sin is more destructive than physical fire. Physical fire destroys physically, but sin destroys eternally. Friends of Jesus are warned to flee or run from sin.
Youthful lusts refers to the sinful activities that young people engage in. They do not think of the danger of and consequences of such sins.

Youthful lust includes looking at immoral pictures in books, on the internet, on smart phones, watching violent films on TV, moving with bad friends, belonging to gangs at school, stealing pens in school as a game, joining cults to show that you are strong, engaging in immoral relationships, enjoying worldly music, dressing to show off your body, sagging your trousers, and many more.
When you indulge in all these, it shows that Christ is not in your heart. Repent today and follow after righteousness. Run from sin and surrender your heart to Jesus before it is too late.

4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
