TOPIC: Stand Out And Up For Jesus (DCLM Daily Manna 30 January 2022)

TEXT: Isaiah 6:9-13 (KJV)

9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

11 Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,

12 And the Lord have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.

13 But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.

KEY VERSE: “And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.” – (Isaiah 6:9)

MESSAGE:

There is the possibility that long interaction within a particular environment can influence and shape one’s beliefs, opinions and lifestyle. Where evils and other forms of moral anomalies have come to be accepted as the norm, there is the tendency for those holding the contrary view to become influenced and sucked in too. It will take a strong will for those who hold on to good not to be silenced and become conditioned by the prevailing social ills.

Prophet Isaiah got the commission to swim against the tide of the prevailing social and spiritual conditions of his day. God painted the picture of the people he would reach. They had become completely blind and insensitive to the righteous demands of God. They had committed sins and rebelled against Him repeatedly that it became normal for them. The people’s resistance of his message was not to affect his mandate to continue to prophesy the truth to save a remnant.

We are getting the same charge today. With the preponderance of sin around us, we must be careful not to be sucked in or drawn away. Sadly, some people once stood against evil but have been silenced or absorbed by the things they condemned. This can happen if we choose not to continue to speak up for righteousness.

Let us not think that there is no use preaching righteousness since it is obvious that no one is willing and ready to listen. There are people out there who are ready to hear you. A remnant of hope will break forth no matter how bad the time is.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Let your voice and life scream against evil.

THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
