TOPIC: God’s Reward System.
Text — Matthew 20:8-16
9And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.
10But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.
11And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house,
12Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.
13But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?
14Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee.
15Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?
16So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.
Key Verse: “Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee” (Matthew 20:14).
Message
A reward system refers to all the monetary and non-monetary payments an organization provides for its employees in exchange for the work they do. God has His own reward system and His parameters are different from those of the world. Service for God is done diligently in love without murmuring as God is displeased with such. The Lord rules over His Church and everything should be done decently and in order. We are to submit to His sovereignty.
What are you doing with your life to make a difference in eternity? When you stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ, what will you be able to look back at and say, ‘This is what, by God’s grace, I accomplished for the kingdom of God?’ Those who abide in their calling will receive “Well done, thou good and faithful servant,” and others who abandon their calling will be ashamed when they stand before Christ at His Judgment Seat.

Challenge: God is a Faithful Rewarder.
Prayer for today: Lord, help me to serve you faithfully.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
