Text: Malachi 3:14-16
14Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts?
16Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

Message
In the olden days, there used to be a big book in the palace of the king called The Book of Remembrance. In this book, all the good deeds done by anyone to the king was written there. Any day the king remembered that book and called for it someone would be rewarded. This was the kind of remembrance that happened to Mordecai in the book of Esther. There are children who performed excellently well in their academics that are being rewarded with scholarships, a book of remembrance was opened for them.

Our Bible passage points out the need to fear the Lord and the result of doing so is that a book of remembrance will be opened for those that fear Him. Friends of Jesus have a record in heaven of all their good deeds and one day either by death or rapture, the book of remembrance will be opened and they will receive the reward of eternal life. A sinner’s reward is eternal damnation in hellfire. If you are still a sinner, repent today so that a book of remembrance will be written for you in heaven.

Prayer for today: I pray that a book of remembrance will be opened for me in heaven.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
