DCLM Sincere Milk 19 May 2023 — A Great Act Of Love

DCLM Sincere Milk  19 May 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — A Great Act Of Love

Topic: A Great Act Of Love

Text: Romans 5:6-10

6For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

7For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

9Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Key Verse: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Message

Adam, the first man on earth was disobedient to God. Through his sin and act of disobedience, he brought condemnation and death to the whole world. As such, everyone born into this world became sinners and stood condemned before God.

Although this single act of disobedience caused trouble for all men, another single act of obedience reversed it! Jesus died on the cross to take away the sins of the world, Hallelujah! Through His death, God provides eternal life and a right standing for us. Christ’s act of love and obedience was powerful and potent enough to overcome Adam’s one act of disobedience – providing life for everyone.

Are you a friend of Jesus? Have you been saved from sin? If not, please, you need to do so today without any further delay. Confess your sins to Him. Ask for pardon and cleansing through His shed blood. Accept Him as your personal Saviour and Lord. Then, ask for the grace not to go back to sin.

If you’re already a believer, praise Him for His love that has found and brought you out from the dungeon of sin.

Prayer for today: Lord, I thank you for your great act of love in saving me from sin.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
