Text: Psalm 27:4-8
5For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
6And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.
7Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
Key Verse: “One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple” (Psalm 27:4).
Message
In her book, Becoming a woman of excellence, Cynthia Heald states, “My goal is to honour the Lord in my thoughts, speech, actions, and activities, to exemplify Christ’s character as I respond to people and circumstances, and to continually deepen my fellowship and knowledge of God and His Word.” Wise people set goals in all areas of their lives, be it academic, career, or spiritual. The goals help in measuring our progress in any area of endeavour. Naturally, youthful age is a period of exuberance, and unbounding exploration fueled by curiosity. Knowing this, Satan continues to exploit this innate drive to the destruction of innumerable youths, using carnal distraction strategies. But the wise youth has an option through Christ to focus on God as his primary goal in life – and the rest of life’s endeavours will fall in place.
Thus, Georgia Cates asserts his absolute faith in God: “Everything I’ve been, I am, or will ever be, I surrender it all to you.” Once we get it right from our youth, we excel in everything else – academics, career, health, etc.

Prayer for today: Holy Father, help me to worship you all my life, in Jesus’ name.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
