DCLM Higher Everyday 3 November 2024 — A Way In The Wilderness

DCLM Higher Everyday 3 November 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiA Way In The Wilderness

Topic: A Way In The Wilderness

Text: Isaiah 43:14-21

14Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.

15am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.

16Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;

17Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.

18Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

19Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

20The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.

21This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.

Key Verse: “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:19).

Message

The Bible is replete with verses that describe the greatness of our God. His power   cannot be compared with that of human beings. He makes promises and fulfils them at set times. Even when the recipients are not aware of the promises, in as much as they are His children, He fulfills them. The Israelites might have forgotten God’s promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob but He never forgot. At the appointed time, He made a way for them out of Egypt and through the wilderness to the Promised Land.

There are many things we pass through in life that seem to be a wilderness journey. The youth age is a decision-making period which will eventually influence the outcome of their future life. It is like a wilderness because the results of those decisions are not known yet. However, God knows everything and at the appointed time, He will take us out of our wilderness and give us a clear path towards our desired goals in all areas of our lives.

Quote: He will take us out

Challenge:  How much of God do you know?

Prayer for today: O God, create a path for me out of the wilderness of life.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
