DCLM Sincere Milk 12 August 2024 — As It Was In The Days of Noah
DCLM Sincere Milk 12 August 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — As It Was In The Days of Noah
Topic: As It Was In The Days of Noah
Text: Luke 17:26-32
26And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
28Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
31In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
32Remember Lot’s wife.
Key Verse: “And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.” Luke 17: 26
Message
We are in the last days with all the things happening around. The days that Jesus talked about in our Bible passage are already here. The days before the coming of our Lord and Master Jesus are referred to as the last days. The things that were predicted in the Bible to happen on the last days or end times are already happening. The phrase “As it was” means “The same way” or “In like manner.” The world we are living in now is not in any way different from that of the old world. Before the time of the flood, the people ignored the warnings Noah gave them, while building the ark. They carelessly continued in their ordinary occupations, pursuing their pleasures and they did not know that the impending judgment of God was at hand.

As it was in the time of Noah, the world today remains unconcerned about the soon coming of Christ. Many people behave as if life has no end; they continue to enjoy the things of this world and fail to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ. The danger is that some believers are getting distracted by the activities, ceremonies and festivities in the world. As Christians, we must be watchful and prayerful so that the Rapture will not meet us unawares. Don’t be carried away by the happenings in the world.

Prayer for today: Lord Jesus, help me to be watchful and remain in active service ready for your coming.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
