Topic: Ask

Text: John 16:23-24

22And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

23And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

24Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Key Verse: “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.” John 16:23

Message

Ryan’s eye glasses dropped in the middle of the road as he hurried through the pedestrian crossing. He quickly turned and asked for help. Fortunately, the man behind him waited and picked up the glasses. “Thank you sir, thank you sir, it is just two days ago that dad gave me this one” Ryan said. Our Bible passage says “In that day.” There is in the life of everyone, a day or time you are in need and ask for help from someone. It is not possible to find someone on earth who has never asked for help. Jesus knows this, and in our Bible passage encourages us to ask God the Father, whatever we need. God is a kind Giver.

There are many needs in the life of every child. First, the need for salvation of his soul, then the strength to overcome every temptation, the provision for every day and deliverance from all harm, to mention just a few. Though your needs are many, ask the Lord in prayer in the Name of His Son, Jesus, believing. He will answer all your prayers.

Prayer for today: Lord, in my moments of need, hear and answer me when I call.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
