TEXT: PROVERBS 18:20-23

20 A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.

21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.

23 The poor useth intreaties; but the rich answereth roughly.

Key Verse: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof” (Proverbs 18:21).

MESSAGE

Every human being is created with a month with which he eats and talks. He communicates with others daily with it. When Christ was on earth, He stressed it to His hearers that they will be given the things to say.

What do you say with your mouth? And more importantly, what do you always say to yourself? Do not be careless with your mouth because you can attract good or bad things into your life through what you say. Learn to speak the right things to yourself and to others.

You are a child of God, learn to use the power of right speaking in every condition of life you find yourself. Your faith will be stronger and more active, then you will develop a positive attitude in challenging times.

Make confessions of faith and say what the scripture says: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life”, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want”, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me”. Use your mouth to build yourself and others and not to destroy.

If you are still a sinner, you can pray to God now, ask Him to forgive and cleanse your heart with the blood of Jesus. A cleansed heart will produce a good tongue in the form of sound speech that will attract God’s blessings to your life.

Prayer: Lord, cleanse my heart and tongue, and give me grace to always use my tongue in the right way.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
