DCLM Higher Everyday 22 May 2026 — Beginning A New Life In Christ
Topic: Beginning A New Life In Christ
Bible Reading: Isaiah 43:15-21 (KJV)
15I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.
16Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;
17Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.
18Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
19Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
20The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.
21This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.
KEY VERSE: “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old” (Isaiah 43:18).
Message
Sinning youths are enjoined to begin a new life in Christ as they are admonished in scriptures to leave their old sinful lives to cleave to the Lord. This new life that can attract new things in your life begins with repentance and accepting Christ as Lord and Saviour. Remember that God is your Creator and Redeemer and He wants to take care of you. Trust that He will make a way for you in every situation as you come into a covenant relationship with Him. God will fulfil His promises in your life if you are obedient to His will and purposes. Remember also to spread the good news of His mercy to others around you.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, grant me grace to begin a new life in Christ.
CHALLENGE
A new life in Christ attracts new things.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
