DCLM Higher Everyday 30 October 2023 — Beginning Of Breakthroughs
Topic: Beginning Of Breakthroughs
Text: Isaiah 43:15-19
15I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.
16Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;
17Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.
18Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
19Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Key Verse: “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:19).
Message
God expects us to forget and march out of past failures to experience bountiful breakthroughs. Apostle Paul best understood this very well. In Philippians 3:13, he disclosed his motto for his breakthroughs: “…but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” Jordan Adler explains this further that, “Every breakthrough is born out of a shift in viewpoint that transforms how a set of circumstances is perceived.”
Today’s meditation is a declaration for breakthroughs from the Almighty for all His children. God wants us to forget the past setbacks, failures and inabilities in our respective undertakings. His desire is that we move forward. Today, He declares a new dawn for all His children: a new day, a new week, a new month and a new year of breakthroughs. He is saying success will begin to flow from where failure has lingered. But you must be a true child of God for a new thing to come forth for you. Obey and act on His promise for breakthroughs.
Quote: God wants us to forget past failures
Challenge: Obedience to God’s promise leads to breakthroughs.
Prayer for today: God wants us to forget past failures.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
