Text: Jeremiah 13:20-23
20Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from the north: where is the flock that was given thee, thy beautiful flock?
22And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered, and thy heels made bare.
23Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.
Key Verse: “Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.” Jeremiah 13:23
Message
The leopard (pronounced as Lepad) is a large cat closely related to the lion, tiger and Jaguar. The name Leopard was originally given to the cat now called cheetah. The Leopard is a large wild cat with a spotted coat native to Africa and Asia, especially the male of the species. It varies greatly in size and markings. The average size is 50 to 90kg in weight. It can however grow much larger. The background colour is typically yellowish above and white below. Dark spots are generally arranged in rose flower design over much of the body.

The Leopard lives alone in the bush and forest and walks mainly in the night. It is a strong climber and often stores the remnants of the animals it kills in the branches of a tree. It feeds upon any individual it can over power from small rodents to water duck. Most often, the Leopard preys on the smaller and medium sized antelopes and deer. It appears to have special liking for dogs as food and in Africa for baboons. It sometimes takes livestock and may attack human beings. The baby of a Leopard is called a cub. The female produces two to four cubs after three months of pregnancy. The animal is also a good swimmer.
Our Bible passage asks a very important question using the leopard as a symbol. From this question, we understand that the spots on the leopard are from birth. So, sinners are born with evil and wicked characteristics. He cannot change his characteristics in any way. Only the divine Son of God can change a sinner and make him whiter than snow. Do not continue in your bad ways, repent and Jesus will save you.

Prayer for today: Lord, cleanse me from every stain and make me clean.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
