MEMORISE: I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. – Acts 20:35
READ: Acts 20:35
35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Matthew 25:1-46 , Leviticus 4-6
MESSAGE:
God blesses His children abundantly because He is a loving Father who doesn’t withhold good things from His beloved. In the same vein, He expects His children to share what they have with others, particularly the needy.
In today’s Bible reading, Apostle Paul used himself as an example to Christians; he said that he had never begged people for food, money or clothes, rather, he worked to pay his bills and supply the needs of those who were with him. He was not self-centered; he took care of those around him and he never lacked. The truth is, the more you share, the more you get, but when you hoard what you have, it will not multiply in your hands.
Many people think of material possessions when it comes to giving. Well, it is good to give material things or money to the needy; however, you can be a blessing to people through other means such as sending appreciation notes to friends, encouraging the weak through text messages, sharing your food with the needy, smiling often, showing genuine concern for peoples welfare, sharing your knowledge, et cetera. Be a giver and you will never lack.
KEY POINT
It is more blessed to give than to receive.
HYMN: LET OTHERS SEE JESUS IN YOU
- While passing through this world of sin,
And others your life shall view,
Be clean and pure without, within,
Let others see Jesus in you.
CHORUS
Let others see Jesus in you,
Let others see Jesus in you;
Keep telling the story, be faithful and true,
Let others see Jesus in you.
- Your life’s a book before their eyes,
They’re reading it through and through;
Say, does it point them to the skies,
Do others see Jesus in you? - What joy ’twill be at set of sun,
In mansions beyond the blue,
To find some souls that you have won;
Let others see Jesus in you. - Then live for Christ both day and night,
Be faithful, be brave, and true,
And lead the lost to life and light;
Let others see Jesus in you.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
